Having been immersed in the interdisciplinary world of art and science since discovering medical illustration in 2012, Lisa has substantial experience in creating visual solutions for a variety of topics. Receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a concentration in Scientific and Preparatory Medical Illustration, she has found herself drawn to a side of her talents that she hadn’t considered growing up as an aspiring artist. The ability to educate diverse audiences was exciting, and propelled them to continue their academic education. Within the Biomedical Visualization graduate program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she discovered her aptitude for the combination of logical and empathetic problem solving needed to design educational interactive applications.

Lisa is currently an employee at Barrett Technology, LLC, as the UI/UX and Game Design Engineer for the therapy robot Burt®, working to make the healing journey of patients and the therapists that serve them more successful.
